Explore molten aluminum by learning historic casting techniques. Investigate metalworking as a tool and method for making objects. Learn the processes and discover the tools, materials and steps necessary to cast objects using either sand casting or lost wax casting. Set up and run a forge, learn the melting points of aluminum and develop pouring techniques and crucible handling. Caution: casting is extremely addictive and this class will teach you time proven, economical methods to start casting on your own. Once you cast your first object you will want to do it again and again.
